Cancer takes so many things away from your life as much as it gives you so many things. It can take away your sense of humour, laughter, enjoyment, having a little laugh into yourself for no reason, positive outlook. Life can be so serious when you have cancer and when in work you maybe didn’t enjoy every aspect of it but when it came to workplace banter the ice was broken to allow all those good things to come in, even if briefly to cheer you up.
I’ve found a new way to have this banter, one is through my two sons as they are also both my mates and through the nursing staff at the Cancer centre where I have my treatment. They are good crack and we have a good laugh on no particular subject but it does lighten the worry as to why they are sticking a needle into your body. They are true and honest people who deserve all thanks and support we can give. If you are ever thinking where to donate have a think about the Belfast City Cancer Centre.
I thought this was a nice topic to talk about, so when your having a bad day at work get involved in some good honest banter to lighten that load you will feel better afterwards!
