As you know Cancer gives you fatigue either through treatment or cancer it’s self or both. I got an activity tracker for Christmas and I have to admit I’m enjoying it very much. I went a walk today in the park and you can see by the photo I don’t do a lot but the main thing is I am keeping it constant. The tracker will measure my calories burned etc… I have connected to myfitnesspal where I record my food intake. This will help me lose weight, this is a challenge for me due to the treatment and I have never personally had to try so it’s new for me.
I’m enjoying all stats etc.. as it’s taking my mind off the situation I’m in and gives a focus in life instead of thinking about dying or how long I have left. When I came back from my walk my where like jelly. The muscle wastage and weakness has been extreme mainly due to steroids which I need to take as part of my treatment.
The weather was great today crisp blue sky and cool, great for walking. As I’ve said before it is important I prepare for the worst to keep fighting and I firmly believe exercise is the key to fighting this disease.
So I will continue to build up my walking and I have developed a regular stretching/yoga type routine first thing every morning to loosen out the muscles and particularly my back which im in a lot off pain at the moment.
