What Cancer has taught me (Part 2)

Assumptions

Cancer is a disease when trying to explain feelings etc… is so difficult to explain. Because it’s so unique to each individual assumptions on anyone who hasn’t experienced cancer can never really know how it feels is the wrong way to think.

Cancer has taught me, to never assume your family and friends doesn’t understand what you are going through, they do understand. They understand because they are living through it with you, every pain, treatment, blood test, hot flush, crying good times and bad.

I have two sons who I love very much and a lot of the time I assume they can accept my condition and they are just living life as usual. Now although from the outside looking in it may look like that, I know deep inside they are worried and upset. I try to show them that life can still relatively keep going and to keep strong for them.

I make sure I give them a hug each day (even though I have to reach up now for the eldest, 6ft 3 lol!!) and I ask them everyday if they are ok and they can feel comfortable in talking to me.

Family and friends do understand mostly about you particularly family as they are with you most of the time and if you communicate to them regularly about your feelings it will help you and them get through the bad times.

Points to remember. Never assume family and friends don’t understand. They do!

Love them every minute of every day ❤️
