Steroids

                                                         

As I lie here in bed nursing my chest infection I thought I would talk about steroids and cancer. 

Since beginning cancer treatment back in March I have been on various amounts of the steroid called dexamethasone. This steroid is to reduce inflammation caused by cancer. Recently it is being used to reduce inflammation in my brain from the tumours that where present.

I met my consultant on Thursday and we agreed to reduce and hopefully come off them. Reason for is it is effecting my muscles through wastage and weakness, it’s also contributing to my weight gain as they increase appetite. So over the next number of weeks I will hopefully lose some weight!!

They also affect my mood making anxious and angry 😡 

This is very short post tonight as just want to sleep now, as I get rid of this chest infection I will increase my posts again
